And The heat is on! Yeah, I felt I was inside a sauna, intensely sweating when I wrote this. Indeed, summer has already started in my country, the Philippines. Every noon is like hell, hot and sizzles. Oopps! The more exact term we can use is "Hot Dry" season. According to the weatherman, who's weatherman? Nope, it's PAG-ASA (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) weather bureau of the Republic of the Philippines. FYI, the country has two major seasons; Rainy season from June to November and Dry season from December to May. To make it more accurate, dry season has also two subtypes based on the temperature; Cool Dry season from December to February and Hot Dry season from March to May. Religion plays a vital role in the life of every Filipino. Everyday I go outside our house, ride a jeepney, buy food for my breakfast, take calls at work or a long walk, I see different faces and meet people in all walks of life. Despite of the differences from appearance to status in life there is one thing that is uniform and it is the Faith. Daily, I often see people do "sign of the cross" especially when I ride a jeepney and it passes the church. I often hear "Thank You, God Bless! " when I help someone and even me I often say "Thank you Lord for the blessings!" especially if I attain something. Without a doubt, this Faith has sculpted the personalities and attitude of many Filipinos toward life, one of which is being Resilient.
