Whistlestop, Bel-air, Makati City: Next Stop! Foods That Will Make You Whistle.

Welcome to Whistlestop! How do you deal with stress? Do you dwell? Do you go to the gym and get fitter or drift yourself into something you usually do like shopping? Well, without a doubt aside from those, we in fact eat more to forget even just a few hours and lighten up our heavy feelings, right? I know your tummy can't resist great foods. Working in a new company with new people, characters and environment, we expect to gain new friends and guess what? Also, new place where there are great restaurants nearby. For almost three months that I've been working in this company, I haven't got a chance to eat at these food houses yet, but only this last week when that chance made possible.  We often hear team building especially when we are new in the company and your colleagues are new too, as they say this is the best chance to get to know each other more, our team leader usually spearheads, it maybe overnight swimming, or #letsgetdrunk. But sometimes, just a plain ea...

3 Yummy 'Food Houses' Perfect for 'Birthday Blowout'

"When september ehhh...ends", I guess Greenday band wouldn't agree to play their song because truly September has just started and do you know what's great about it? It's 'Ber Months', so what do I mean? We can start the 'countdown to christmas', right? Yes! Believe it or not, the Philippines(my country), has the longest 'Xmas Celebration'. Not only 12 days but 116 days(Sept. 1-Dec. 25), isn't it Berrific? Berrrace yourselves, christmas songs are coming to town. Not to pressure everyone, we still have a lot of time to prepare for that. For now, let's call it a normal day. Anyway, did you read my last blog when I went to Seng Guan Temple? Remember, I also shared that August is my birthmonth. What's with that? Here's why I am excited, it was last month when I decided to put a theme on my birthday and that was 'food crawl', it was first time because I usually celebrate it with my family at our house, I said I want s...

Tondo, Manila City: Burning Incense on Ghost Month at Seng Guan Temple

It's been almost 2 months when I last posted on my blog. That was June and now it's August. Many things happened, new president and government in the Philippines, also intense training at my new work (information overload). Seems like everything is brand new and doing awesome. Well, let me not forget the very popular and really took the world by storm, Pokemon! Sadly, this app is not yet working on my phone and the worst is I can't catch one. Anyway, I'll just figure out later how can I ride into this crazy hype.  So now it's August! And what's with August? It's my birth month! Hahah! Owwkey! I know no one cares, aside from that it is "Ghost Month", scary right? In a multicultural country like the Philippines, this is not as strange as ghost, where traditions are passed down through multiple generations and mixture of different cultures due to never ending story of globalization(like what we know change is constant). This "Hungry Ghost Mon...

Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines: Last Hurrah to Summer!!!

"Rain, Rain, Go away, come again another day, little Johnny wants to play" I guess we need to turn up our voices full blast again when we sing this nursery rhyme everytime the rain comes, hahah! I remember, even when I was a kid I used to sing this but unfortunately It didn't work most of the time. It was last week of May when PAGASA, the Philippines weather bureau declared the onset of rainy days.  Oh My! I just hate this (wet)season! I hate thunderstorms, specifically lightnings. Let me not forget the floods in Manila and the traffic congestion caused by it, routes and ways are not passable for 1-3 hours or may be longer depending on the height of the flood. On the contrary, this is a perfect time for the farmers to plant their seedlings. Isn't it a paradox? The disadvantages for you are advantages for some or many, like the rain for me is stressing but for the farmers it's a blessing.  Funny thing, whether I like it or not the weather today or would be tomo...

Manila City: Feel the Philippines at The National Museum

At last! Yes! And I'm back again on my blog, after a long period of self-immersion finally I'm indeed back on track with a "Bang!" Okay, how's your day or night going? In short, how are you? Well, it's almost like a month that I didn't publish an entry here. I'd say, there were a lot of things happened in my life, it was like a roller coaster ride. There were times of loneliness and there were times of happiness too. But the lesson here is "Keep moving, no matter the circumstances".  So, going forward I didn't go back just to uplift you and say "You're beautiful, don't worry" but also to share another story. This entry supposedly posted last month but since I had to fix different issues, I decided to publish it today since I'm already ok and also we (Filipinos all over the world) are celebrating a very special occasion, the Philippine Independence, somewhat related to my story. Let's just say this is my blog...
